PostSubject: Warik & Kurgan: Do The Capital   Thu May 03, 2012 11:49 pm

Warik and Kurgan had a surprisingly quiet trip to the Imperial city, mainly because Warik spent the majority of his time admiring the large bag of gold he had received for the job. The two comrades had hired a wagon to take them to the Imperial City (Both men tired, and not really excited about the idea of walking.) When they arrived, they paid their driver generously, and headed in to the main gate.

Warik and Kurgan entered the Talos plaza, both witnessing the splendor of the City. They decided then that they would split up for the day, Kurgan to go find a blacksmith to repair his armor, and Warik a merchant to assist him with certain "requisitions". They agreed to meet in the evening at a tavern in the elven gardens district known as "The Golden Flower". The two went their separate ways, both eager to enjoy some rest and to spend their spoils.

As the golden sun was setting over the Imperial City, Kurgan approached The Golden Flower. Kurgan had left his armor and weapons with his blacksmith, so he needed new clothes. He spared no coin with his new clothes, the fur imported from skyrim, the silk from summerset isle. The whole ensemble hand crafted into a light, crimson, and gold trimmed extravagant outfit. Kurgan had also picked up an amulet he found in the Market District. The silver amulet rested on his neck, with an emerald mounted on it. However, what the amulet was made of wasn't what made it stick out to him. The amulet pulsed a blue aura and to the touch, he could feel his magika concentrate at a much faster pace. Kurgan gazed up to the tower in the middle of the city before going in. He walked forward and leaned on the wall of the inn. The spectacle of the orange and gold dancing with the architecture of the tower was truly something to behold and take in. Kurgan stood leaning on the wall, admiring the sight when a smile came across his face. It was the first time in years he felt at peace, whether it was for a minute or not, he was comfortable. Kurgan closed his eyes, the sight reminded of home, mostly the colors. He let out a big sigh of relief as his eyes remained shut, leaning against the wall.

Warik burst out of the door of The Golden Flower, a mug of mead in his left hand sloshing about, while he waved a turkey leg around in his right. With the door open, the sounds of the Inn were spilling out into the quiet evening, a stark contrast to the boisterous laughter and singing coming from inside. Warik was singing loudly to the same song as the tavern patrons, as he made his way to the side of the door. He had removed his leather armor, replacing it with simple black linen pants and a white shirt, nothing fancy. The shirt, though new four hours before, was now stained here and there with alcohol and food. Warik turned towards the wall, gripped the turkey leg in between his teeth, still singing though muffled, and began to try to use his right hand to unlace his pants. It was obvious he was already deep in his cups. At the sound of a throat clearing, Warik turned to face Kurgan, who he only now noticed leaning against the wall. Warik flung his arms up and exclaimed, "Kurgan!" which led to the loss of his turkey leg, and most of his mead.

He then turned back, and began to relieve himself on the Inn's wall.

"Where have you been, brother? I got here two hours ago. Rented us some rooms. Separate rooms, you fairy. And then I decided to have some dinner. And some mead. And..." He then turned to face his friend as he laced his pants back up. "And here we are! C'mon, Kurgan, get in here and have some drinks. Or at least buy me some."

Kurgan slightly jumped at the sound of the inn's door crashing open, as he heard Warik exclaim his name he turned around. As soon as Warik began to relive himself, Kurgan put his head down into his hand with shame.
"It's nice to see you too Warik." Kurgan said, as he was rubbing the inner parts of his eyes with them closed. Kurgan looked back up as Warik turned to him, "Sure thing my friend, it's been too long since i have had some nice wine." Kurgan still smiling, "Come on" he said putting his hand around Warik's broad shoulder, leading him inside the inn. Kurgan sat down at a table with Warik as a beautiful Bosmer waitress approached, "I haven't seen you around" she said smiling at Kurgan. "No miss, i just got here. Although my friend here has already-" "Yes i know, Warik has made quite an impression of himself already." Kurgan laughed, "I'm sure he has, quite the barbarian" He said while smiling at Warik. "My name is Kurgan." he said while extending his hand. The Bosmer gently grasped his, "and I am Faylinee." Kurgan gently kissed the top of her hand, "It's my pleasure then, Faylinee." She drew her hand back after slightly giggling and her face turning the color of his clothes. She cleared her throat, "What...what can I get you Kurgan?" "What ever your finest wine is, and some hog meat." he said, whilst grabbing at his empty stomach. "Sure thing." Faylinee said, as she walked away winking. "So Warik, what have you spent your money on besides...this." he said while laughing.

Warik watched the serving girl walk away before looking back to Kurgan with a smirk. "I never would have pegged you for the "Charm the serving wench" type. I mean, me? Of course. You strike me as the "married noble woman" type. But then again, that's me too." Warik laughed then finished off his mug, just as the girl returned with Kurgan's order. He smiled at her. "Another mug of mead, love. Or two maybe."
As the girl walked away, he turned his attention back to his friend.

"Well, I went and made some orders. Some equipment for our next adventure." He then quieted some. "I assumed we are still going to go take care of your problem, yes?" When Faylinee returned, Warik thanked her and chugged the first mug outright. He wiped his mouth, then grabbed a bit of Kurgan's food. As he took a bite, a man drunkenly stumbled past and slapped him on the shoulder. The man shouted, while spilling some of his drink. "For Skyrim!"

Warik laughed and drummed his fist on the table before raising his mug in salute. "Aye brother, for the fatherland!" He then winked at Kurgan. "Surprising amount of Nords in here. And as always, we bring the fun." A young redguard serving woman passed by the table, winking at Warik. He grinned at her, and then at Kurgan. "I love this damn city."

Velheart made his arrival to the city in good time, with no miss haps along the way. He left his horse in the stables and his way into the city gates. He stoped and looked around getting his bearings and noticed it was dusk already. "Guess ill have to find an inn for the night" he said under his breath as he sighed. He proceeded to search the city for the nearest place to quench his thirst and rest for the night. He heard the hoot and hollers in the distance and followed the cheers to an inn callled " the golden flower". He grabbed the swinging sign to bring it to a halt and faced the door and walked in. Over come by the loud ruckus he took a second to look around and he saw the front desk. He Approached the young woman behind the table who's head was looking down at a book. Velheart said in a low voice " I'm looking for a place for the night, if you have the room that is. " the woman responded " well you've come to the best inn in town good sir" looking up " oh my! How bout we set you up in one of our bigger room? Not to bring offense sir" " none taken ma'am. A large room would be in my favor " he replied with a grin. She handed him a key "its up the stairs and straight back" velheart took the key "thank you kindly ma'am. He made his way to his room and set his shield by the door and removed the heavy plate mail from his shoulders along with his chainmail shirt. He traded it out for his black leather coat from his pack " ahh much better than that damned heavy armor." "Time for that drink" he thought to himself. He made his way down the stairs to the tavern. His mouth as watering at the thought of the mead he was about drink.he walked up to the bar squeezing through a group of drunken men " two pints bar keep" the man handed velheart two and he downed one with a mighty gulp. Taking his time with the next, looking around at the people populating the tavern for the night.

Kurgan looked up sharply to Warik, his smile fading "Yes. I checked with my blacksmith, and he knows exactly where he is. He is an old friend of mine, the blacksmith. The only person i would trust with my armor and weapons. I'll introduce you when we are on our way out." Kurgan said, as he took a chomp out of his hog. Suddenly, his attention was grasped by something else, a force sort of familiar. Kurgan looked towards the door as a massive brick of a nord walked up to the counter for the inn. Kurgan muttered to Warik, "That man...he is powerful...He is a mage..." Kurgan made sure not to stare as the man towered by the two, heading to his room. "Warik, he is powerful. He is intimidating, so please do not do what you normally do when you're intimidated. We don't need to start anything here." Kurgan said as the man stepped out of his room and to the bar. "However, something about him...he seems gentle." He said, as he took a drink of his wine. Kurgan looked at Warik as he continued drinking."What are your instincts telling you my friend?" Kurgan asked as he took another swig of his bottle of wine.

Warik raised his eyebrow at Kurgan comments. He turned in his chair and whistle as the man walked through the room.
"A mage? When the hell did they start allowing Mammoths into the College?" He smirked. "I'm not intimidated. I mean, he is big. But so are giants, and I've killed them before." He took a swig of his mead. "Well, one giant. And there were six men helping me. But still."

Warik quickly devoured the piece of hog he had taken from Kurgan, then finished off his mug. He drummed his fingers on the table briefly, then frowned at Kurgan. "You know, I'm a little offended. What I do when I'm intimidated? When am I ever intimidated? I'm a damn Nord. I slay monsters and men before I even have breakfast." He glanced over his shoulder at the large man. "I could take him. Just saying, I could." Warik grinned then. "I bet he wouldn't even fight me, honestly. Probably sense the killer in me." Warik frowned again when he saw Kurgan's look of disapproval. "Fine red-eye, ruin all of my fun. I was just...speculating. No harm in that. I'm going to go get another drink."

Warik stood from the table, and headed for the bar. On his way, he stopped near the bard, who was currently attempting to smooth talk one of the serving girls. "Play us a tune, friend, liven up the place." The bard was about to make a negative comment, but when he caught the gold piece Warik flipped to him, he readied his lute, and launched into an old Nord battle song. As the music filled the air, Warik motion for the redguard woman who had winked at him earlier.

"What's your name, beautiful?"
The girl smiled at him "Lairah. And yours?"
"Warik of Falkreath, at your service. Would you mind getting me a bottle of mead, another bottle of wine for my Dunmer friend at the table, and a jug of your strongest whiskey as well?"
"That is a big order, Warik of Falkreath." she said with a flirtatious smirk.
Warik winked at her. "I'm a big man." The girl laughed, then left to gather his order. As Warik waited, he turned and leaned against the bar, and took notice of the giant nord once again, quietly enjoying his drink. Warik looked first to make sure Kurgan wasn't looking, and smirked when he saw the dunmer making small talk with his elven wench again. Warik slid down the bar to he big man.

"You are possibly the biggest man I have ever seen. Obviously your father was a Nord, but out of curiosity, was your mother a frost troll, or a bear?"

Velheart turned to hear the the obviously drunken Nord. He replies in an aggrivated tone "my mother was no troll sir, but funny enough she was a bear in a sense." Turning to the drunken fool " and if you think I'm large now, keep rambling on of my mother and ill reveal to you a sight that'll make the piss run down your leg." Velheart turns the pint up and finishes it. He then shouts in a thunderous manner " bar keep how bout another round over here?" The bar keep hands velheart the two pints,he takes them and slides one towards the Nord. " thats for you, now how bout you move on" velheart then downs his pint and slams it on the bar.

Kurgan now becoming as drunk as the rest of the tavern, leaned back in his chair as he sipped on his second bottle of wine. "Well, you know i am from the GREAT house of Telvanni back in Morrowind." He continued boasting to the Bosmer waitress he was talking to before. "Yes I am-" he stopped as saw Warik talking to the giant of a nord. "AHHH Vivecs CUNT!" He screamed as he fell back in his chair, completely inebriated. Kurgan stood up, he began to walk as if he was on a boat, swaying back and forth towards the two as he finished his second bottle of wine. Kurgan got up to the two nords as the giant one gave Warik a pint of mead. "See Warik!" he said as he put his hand on Warik's shoulder, half to steady his balance.
"Also my friend, i meant no offence from what i said earlier. Don't take it out on him for my insolence." Kurgan said under his breath with a drunken hiccup. "NOW THEN! LET THE WINE FLOW!" Kurgan screamed as he held up his arms, "For tonight is a celebration!" Kurgan paused and looked at Warik "Hm, what are we celebrating my friend?"

Warik glanced at his dunmer friend, but chose to ignore him, then set his eyes back on the mammoth of a man. He chugged the mead the man had pushed him, then slammed it down in the same manner as the big man.

"Idle threats and piss jokes are no way to make friends, sir." Warik then smiled at the man, then continued. "I understand of course. I can forgive the fact that your ornery, considering you suckled a bear in your wee years. Tell me, bear-cub, what brings you to the Imperial City? Salmon out of season back home?"

Velheart trying to stay calm " I gave no false threat friend." Smiling back at warik " and I came to find a blacksmith to forge my dear serrah some armor. But I tire of salmon so a nice rack of nord ribs would be quite tasty." He looks at the dunmer. " is your friend always this pleasant? "

Kurgan looked back at the giant man, "Of course he is! Just don't get on his bad side. When you do he ignores you like he is doing me." Kurgan looked to Warik with a face that sort of resembled spite. "Well my name is Kurgan Othan." He said, extending his hand in pleasantries. "Aaaaand she is a very attractive female." Kurgan walked off, without even making contact with the Nord. Kurgan disappeared into the crowd of drunken marry-makers while following the woman.

Warik began to respond to the large Nord, but waited through Kurgan's drunken introduction. When the elf suddenly went off to follow a woman, Warik laughed out loud. He looked to the big Nord. "Well bear-cub, if it's my ribs you want, I welcome you to try. But tell me, what is your name? I'll need to know, when I have them mark your grave." Drunkenly proud of his remark, Warik turned again to watch Kurgan stumble after one of the servers, entertained by his lightweight antics. "Elves have no business drinking with Nords", he mumbled.

Velheart ceased leaningon the bar standing up straight. " velheart is my name but you wont be making it out of this tavern as easily as you may think. " he turns his head towards the dunmers direction and back to warlike " and who are you to to tell him what company to keep?"

Warik stood as well, staring up at the large man. His face betrayed nothing, though he was quickly reminded that he was outmatched where size was concerned.

"Do you not understand humor, bear-cub? Kurgan is my friend, I was jesting at his expense." Warik stepped a little closer to Velheart. "You talk a big game...but I suspect you aren't as tough as you appear. I think you should prove it." As he finished speaking, without hesitation, Warik reached out with his right arm and grabbed the collar of a Nord who was seated with his back to him. He jerked back, toppling the man to the ground. When the man clambered up in a fury, Warik took a step back and pointed at Velheart. "He did it."

Warik smirked as the man hesitated when he saw Velheart's size, but he knew the man's Nord instincts would take precedence. He grinned as the man lifted up his chair and flung it at Velheart.

Velheart looked in astonishment as the chair came barreling towards him. He snatched the chair outages the air doing a 360° spin bringing it down over the mans head rendering him unconscious. He whiped around to warik shouting " are you out of your mind? If you want to test your mettle I'm right here. No need to make these weaklings fight for you...unless you be a coward?velheart grabbed the bottle of mead from the fallen mans table and finished it. He spun the bottle in the air and took a swing at it hitting it so hard the bottle exploded into tiny shards. He looked at warik and motioned for him to make his move.

The Inn irrupted into a brawl instantly as the massive nord slammed the stool into the man's head. Kurgan looked over at the two and saw the nord break the bottle mid air with his fist. He went towards them to diffuse the situation. Kurgan didn't make it two steps without getting a fist right in his mouth. "Rotten FETCHER!" he screamed as he grabbed the man by the back of his head and slammed him into another man next to him. Kurgan was then tackled by a drunk redgaurd, being brought to the ground. The redguard went to throw a punch as Kurgan grabbed his wrist and used the momentum to throw the man off of him. Kurgan raised up to one knee and landed a hard punch to the mans face. Kurgan stood up as he tried to fight his way to the two nords who started the whole thing.

Warik waited until the exact moment that Velheart smashed the bottle, and he struck. He threw a powerful front kick, the kind of kick that would topple any man. Any man, apparently, except Velheart. When his foot connected with Velheart's stomach, he saw the big man stumble back, but Warik himself fell backwards hard. He was unprepared for how sturdy the big Nord was. As he stumbled back, he fell into a large Nord and an Orc who were behind him. The nord shouted and backed away, but the Orc growled and grabbed Warik by his collar, jerking him to his feet. The Orc growled in his face, "You wish to die, Nordling?" Warik smiled innocently, then brought up his right hand, smashing the Orc in the side of the head with a bottle he had managed to grab. As the Orc reeled from the hit, Warik spun and ducked just as the orc's nord friend took a swing at him. He came back up with an uppercut, knocking the nord back a few feet. Warik then leaped onto a table, scanning the room quickly. He grinned at the chaos erupting all around, and stopped when he saw Kurgan take down a couple of drunks. Warik cheered for his friend, then turned as a man tried to grab his ankles. He jumped over the mans reach, then shot out a quick kick that sprawled the man out. Warik laughed, then turned his attention to Velheart. "Alright bear-cub, show me what you got!" Warik grinned and beckoned to the big man, still throwing kicks at anyone who tried to knock him from the table.

Brynjolf had just walked into the Golden Flower when the brawl began. Dodging various fists and airborne objects, he walked up nonchalant to the barkeep. "Have any Stros M'Kai Rum?" he said with a smirk as he watched a Nord smash a bottle on an Orc face. "Not a boring night I see." The barkeep rolled his eyes as he was handing Brynjolf the bottle of rum and glass. Brynjolf then turned around on the stool to watch the Bottle-wielding Nord taunt what Brynjolf could only describe as a walking mountain into a very ill-advised fight. 'Oh Gods, this should be fun'

Velheart made his way towards wariks table along the way grabbing the orc and giving him a swift powerful elbow to his face, letting the orc go he fell limp to the floor. He pressed on towards warik grabbing for his leg. Warik dodged returning a swift kick to velhearts face. Velheart took a step back wiping the blood from under his nose. Warik luaghing at velheart as he continued stumbling around his makeshift throne. Velheart roared out "you think that's funny do ya? Watch this fool." Velheart Yanked the table making warik fall backwards onto the table. "Haha gotcha now!" Velheart hoisted the Nord above his head tossing him towards kurgan. " hey kurgan you might wanna catch your friend. Its his first time flying" velheart chuckling as the man crashed into the dunmer.

Kurgan looked up as Warik crashed into him, sending both to the ground. Kurgan growled as he rolled Warik off of him, "And you call me a fairy, I don't lunge myself at you." Kurgan stood up as he looked towards the bar. "Hmph." Kurgan began to step towards the giant nord as he heard a familiar voice scream. Kurgan's attention snapped over to the right as he saw a redgaurd drag Faylinee, the bosmer from before the brawl erupted, by the hair towards the rooms. Kurgan snarled as he ran towards them, jumping onto a table over some drunk brawlers. Kurgan's hand begun to glow red as he lunged through the air. Kurgan landed with a roll and pointing his hand at the redgaurd, letting loose a fire blast powerful enough to stun him. As the fireball exploded on the redguards back, his grip instantly loosened on the bosmer's hair as he flew forward a couple of feet. Kurgan ran up some stairs towards her, the redguard coming to his feet. Kurgan screamed as he lunged forward and landed a hard fist on the redguards face, sending him into the wall. Kurgan grabbed the redguard around the neck, and drug him to the stairs, throwing him down onto the drunken brawlers he jumped over before. Kurgan ran back to Faylinee and kneeled by her side.
"Are you okay?" Kurgan asked while holding out his hand. "Yes, i am just fine now. I don't know if i would have been if you didn't come along." she said, grabbing Kurgan's hand as he lifted both of them up. Kurgan let go of her hand and reached into his pocket, "Here" he said, handing his room key to the stunned waitress. "Go to my room, get some rest, and don't let anyone in. I'll be up when this whole mess diffuses, hopefully i can talk some reason into the two that started this." Kurgan said, as he looked down towards Warik. Kurgan looked back at Faylinee as she embraced him. Kurgan held her for a second and gently pushed away, "Now go to my room, and i'll see what i can do."

Warik was completely surprised by Velheart's advance, and even more surprised by being lifted into the air. As he flew across the room, he found himself enjoying the feeling, until he crashed hard onto Kurgan. Warik climbed to his feet, dizzy, and faced the Dunmer. "For your information Red-eye, I didn't choose to land on you. Though I appreciate it nonetheless." Warik grinned, then turned as his friend rushed off to defend the bosmer woman. Warik was still smiling as he approached Velheart, the men on all sides decimating the tavern. He began to speak to Velheart, but stopped and ducked his head when he heard the sound of Kurgan's fiery assault. He turned and shouted, "Elf, your going to kill us all! Fire and taverns do NOT mix." He turned back, cursing, and found himself face to chest with Velheart. He smiled up at the big man.

"Well friend, so far I am impressed." He moved his neck back and forth, popping the bones in the process. "But I think it's time to -" Before he could finish his sentence, he heard shouting at the door, and watched as two Imperial Guards rushed into the tavern, attempting to stop the now out of control bar fight. "Well now, things are really getting interesting." Warik turned back to Velheart, hoping his attention was on the guards as well, and without another word, he dropped to a crouch and kicked at Velheart's ankles, sweeping his legs out from under him. Before he could do anything else, he was grabbed by one of the guards, and pulled back from the fray. The man had his short sword drawn, and without a word, smashed the hilt into the side of Warik's head. Warik crashed to the ground in a daze, momentarily unaware of the fight going on around him. As his eyes came to focus, he saw the guard step over to the prone Velheart, sword pointed to his chest. Warik reached out and grabbed the man's ankle, jerking his leg out from under him, laughing as the guard fell over Velheart. He shouted to the big man, "Your welcome!" as he rolled to his feet.

Besides a few stray bottles that had missed his head by inches, Brynjolf had been able to dodge the majority of the fighting from his sit at the bar. The two Nords had come to a few blows, but once the bigger had grabbed ahold of the other, he knew it was all over. He watched as the Nord flew thru the air into a Dunmer dressed in an expensive, albeit gawdy, outfit. "You have an empty room that I could rent for a week?" he asked the bartender who was now ducking behind the bar. "15 septims a night." "WHAT?!" Brynjolf exclaimed, "That's robbery! Give me a damn good reason why I should pay that much?!" The bartender only said one word: "Renovations." Brynjolf looked at the damage that had been caused in the short period of time and found that he could not argue with the man. Brynjolf shook his head in agreement and took the key from the man.

As he took a shot from his half-empty bottle of rum while walking/stumbling towards the rooms, Brynjolf began choking as he saw the Dunmer charging a fireball in his hand and hurling it towards the redguard next to him. "Oh Shi-" Brynjolf rolled out of the way as the spell hit the redguard in the back, but had rolled straight into the edge of a table with momentum. Stunned for a few moment, Brynjolf rose to his feet and was about to take another shot of his drink when he noticed that the bottle had broke, spilling across the floor. He turned to the dunmer who had launched the fireball, and in turn the ruined rum, and began walking towards him. "Hey you grey-skinned prick! Your should watch where you aim your spells!" Brynjolf screamed as he was readying a full power punch to the turning dunmer's face.

Kurgan looked up in time to see the over inebriated nord throwing a heavy fist right for his face. Kurgan grabbed the meaty wrist of the nord, his fingers not even connecting around, and guided the nord with his other hand against the broad shoulder of the nord, sending him slamming into the wall. Kurgan watched the nord slide down the wall, unconscious from the alcohol combined with the force of the blow. Just as he looked towards the rest of the bar, the doors exploded when the two guards rushed inside and begun to attempt to disperse the brawl. Kurgan stood and hesitated a second while he watched Warik trip the guard over Velheart. "Alright then..." He sighed, "guess we're doing this!" Kurgan launched himself over half the tavern towards the other guard, landing a swift kick to his temple and rendering the guard unresponsive in seconds. Kurgan turned as the other guard was raising to his knees, only to meet Kurgan's foot painfully landing on his stomach. "WARIK! We have to go NOW!"
